Your responsibilities will revolve around treating patients with both medical conditions as well as cosmetic needs. The compensation for a Medical Aesthetician varies from state to state, and whether you are a part-time or full-time employee. It is generally provided as a salary plus percent commission on services and product sales. If working with a large facility or franchise location, medical insurance and 401K benefits may also be included. Note: Commission percentages may be lower than at a Day Spa, but note that the price of Medical treatments and products is greater than that of day spas. Medical Aesthetician Training
Because this industry is currently growing, and the demand for Medical Aestheticians is high, it is not absolutely required that you obtain Medical training right away. Many facilities will have its Medical Director conduct one on one training, either on the job or prior to start, to get you up to speed on the medical procedures and terminology.
